Thursday already.

Two days in a row of Mysore feel good, even though I had an abbreviated practice today.
Had an acupuncture session with Kelly from the studio; he seems to be quite amazing. He was reading my pulses for more than 5 minutes and correctly diagnosed my heart valve problem. He told me that my spinous processes of vertebrae are most likely grind against each other when I stand up from UD, that much I have guessed already. So my plan is - again work on quad/psoas/abs strength for another week before even attempting to stand up, and see if it helps. If not, I might need some technique remediation.

Work is waiting.

Happy Thursday!

hi Alfia
it sounds as if you have an acupuncturist that also practices with you? that is really nice, because of the knowledge of the practice the healer has. a yoga practicing acupuncturist who got me started with yoga in earnest 8 years ago. it took me a while to get going with it, but she encouraged me to stick to it.
cheers,
Arturo

Wow, that acupuncturist sounds amazing! I've never been poked with little needles, but I've always wanted to try...

Hi, Arturo:

Isn't it great to have an acupuncturist who is also an ashtangi? I really liked my previous one, but she thought that having a lower back pain is a normal part of aging. I ended up giving her an advice on stretching hip flexors and so on.
I am glad that your friend got you involved with yoga! Wasn't it a gift that just keeps on giving?

Good morning, dear JS! I can't say that being poked with needles is the most pleasant experience, but it does make you feel better in the end. :)

I tried acupuncture once for migraine, she put needles in my left toes, which tingled but were fine, but when she put one in the right second toe, my foot shot straight up and nearly took her head off. I had absolutley no control over what happened. From this she deduced I had a liver imbalance. I didnt go back, but went to a shiatsu therapist who seemed to press the same buttons, but without needles and was pretty good at helping my migraine.

Hi, Kevin:

Too funny! Pictured that very vividly. :)

But whatever works, right? I would go to see a shaman if it would help.

I remember it like it was yesterday.I saw her on TV a while back, she is one of the acupuncture head honchos over here now, I thought you are so lucky to have those straight white teeth for being on TV!

After all the expense of various treatments, what has worked is drinking more water, yoga and having ice in the freezer if one threatens. It just seemed to take years to find a solution.Much like the IBS.
