Nearly done with renovations.

My apartment looks so much better! Granted we did not yet bring boxes upon boxes of our stuff from the storage, but still. Walls, blinds, and floor are clean and shiny, some of the furniture are gone, and there lots of empty space. It feels like I can breathe easier.
My son found a job in NYC, which is fantastic in this job market. If I come to visit him, I might be able to see all my virtual NY friends. How cool is that? He just needs to graduate first.
On the other hand, I had only two (!) days of Mysore practice this week. So far it is the record of the lowest attendance in my Ashtanga history. In spite of substantial physical activity moving heavy objects, I managed to gain 4 pounds. I am feeling very heavy and ungraceful. Pasasana is gone. Can barely bind Marichi D. Time to start a new life, me thinks.
Happy Saturday!

Oh that'd be awesome if you visit! (while I'm in town, cause your schedule should revolve around mine :))

Congrats to your son too. The job market is, well, you know.

My son graduates sometime in May or June, you will be back from India then. :)

Ok then! I definitely want to meet you. I'm not sure you'll want to come all the way north to practice on Mars with me & the cFURRR, but oh right if you happen to visit at a time when he's in India, which I think will be June, then I'll be at Sutra with Greg anyway.

I totally want to go to Mars! If not in June, then other time. No chance I am going to miss it!

You do?? Oh good!!!

(cFURRR is something special.)

I flew to Portland a couple summers ago to meet Susan and Laksmi. The funny thing was, my first roommate from first trip in India happened to be in Portland that weekend (she lives in Seattle) and I got to see her too! Very small world.

hi Alfia
congratulations to your son. don't be too hard on yourself regarding the non-binding in asanas. when i have colds, my attendance to mysore is much worse than yours.

it sounds like your apartment got a makeover from the fab four (or is it fab five?). after watching that program for a while, i realized that over and over, one of the things they did most often was to take stuff out of people's places and put them in storage. simplicity is elegant.
hugs
Arturo

Oh, your poses will be back. And you have a nice shiny flat! Have a good week and lots of practices this week :)

Hi, Arturo:

Thank you for your support. Simple is truly elegant, but I do miss some of my things that are still in boxes. Charger for my cell phone, for example... :)

Hi, Susan!

Thank you and you have a wonderful week, too. :)

Hi, Ursula:

Have you ever thought of visiting the US? I would love to meet you. :)

Must be great to have that clean, starting from fresh feeling in your flat.

Meeting virtual yogi's has been great fun, they all turn out to be nice friendly people.

The binds will return, I have lost Marichyasana D by myself, but can do Supta K now, so maybe a fair swap.

Thank you, Sonya!

Hi, Kevin:
I really like my apartment now. Have trouble leaving it in the morning :)
I got my pasasana back - it was a false alarm. Seems I blamed extra pounds for nothing - they are still with me, but I can bind. I wonder what the binding depends on then?

Hi Alfia,

I've been several time in the US, 10 times perhaps. Most of the time it was California, up and down.

We had planned to travel to the US this year, but then my bf couldn't fly. I'm sure I will travel to the US again, and of course I'd like to meet you then, if possible.

Happy practices.

Ursula

A pound here or there makes no odds, AC and I were discussing how many Wispa's you would have to eat before Supta Kurmasana became impossible!

Easy for you to say, Kevin since you can bind it on your own. I, on the other hand, do not need any additional challenges! :D My colleagues do not understand that and keep enticing me with candies. SK means nothing to them...

I showed someone a picture of Supta K, you should have seen the horror on their faces!

There is a kind of technique to doing it I have found, those hard litle foot exercises Cary had me doing, pushing the heels together, then the toes made the foot bind happen. It's actually easier if you can get the feet crossed, as its easier to work the shoulders under.
