My friend, who is getting a divorce, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. It is ER+, which is a relatively good news. It is not known if there was a lymph node involvement. She is holding up amazingly well. But it is a very sad atmosphere now in the lab. We just feel helpless somehow. :(

Aw, hell. I'm sorry, Alfia. :(
Thank you, JS! Doesn't it suck big time?
Oooh... poor thing. Time to dedicate some practices.
I'm sorry.
But ER+ is a really good thing. What else did the biopsy say (staging, differentiation)? Has there been a PET scan?
They do such WONDERFUL things these days with breast cancer... I hope that everything is caught early enough so that all the available therapies can be used to help her.
:( :( :(
I'm so sorry. You are right... sometimes, life certainly feels as if it is not fair.
Hi, Linda:
Thank you, I would really appreciate some dedicated practices. She is a wonderful person and does not deserve all this crap.
Anna, you seem to know a lot about breast cancer! They did not stage it yet, because they do not know whether the lymph nodes are involved; but tumors are well differentiated (there are two of them!), which is a good news as well. They did an ultrasound scan, no PET yet. She brought the films to work; it was scary to see that less than a year there was nothing there, and now - two tumors.
Hi, Nairam, Thank you! How is your dad doing?
That IS good news. Sending healing vibes her way, and happy thoughts to you... you're a good friend.
If it wasn't on last year's films, hopefully everything was caught early enough for her to be cured, even if some therapies are needed.
Alfia,
Yes, I made it home safely after a long travel day :) I had such a wonderful time with you! I felt like we had known each other for a long time. I wish we lived closer together, can't wait to see you in November. No worries about the shala, I will see it soon with you next time.
Thank you so much for your hospitality! I'm planning on posting a blog soon about it :)
Thank you again, Alfia!
