Feeling girly

I love moon days mostly because of how I feel next day during the practice. I feel light and wonderful! I walked too much this weekend, so my legs were a little sore. Stretching was particularly delicious today. Standing up from UD (assisted) felt a little lighter, but I might be imagining it just because I feel great overall. After practice, I styled my hair with a blow dryer and a mousse , so my new haircut looks nice and fresh. I even applied a little of makeup, so I am feeling very feminine and flirty. Spring is in the air! :)
I am very excited about the upcoming Kino's workshop this weekend. It is going to be somewhat brutal though - 4.5 hours on Saturday, 6 hours on Sunday, plus I will need to drive really fast afterwards to make it to my own vinyasa class that I teach. I think I will try not to push too much this week, just to preserve my energy.

Workshop sounds fun.

What kind of effect the moon day has on you, Linda? I thought the effect was more or less universal...

Some times, a lot of the times, I'm better & stronger for the break & extra rest. But today my right wrist was really painful & distracting all the way through & I was not having very much fun. I think it's PMS. I could use a ladies PMS holiday more than anything else. I get weaker & gimpier...

Sorry to hear that, Linda. I hope your wrist feels brand new tomorrow!

S'ok. Is a chronic issue. I am used to working around & through issues. I just tend to not enjoy my practice so much when so distracted. I'll use the ultra sound thing on it every night this week if I can. See if that helps.

Might give up & go get some acupuncture... We'll see.

Alfia you're a Taurus! The new moon was in Taurus, on your sun... rules all things Venusian, including beauty, and that is why you felt girly!

Ah, sometimes I like astrology.

Seriously? How interesting. It is a very strong influence. I am supposed to get my Sephora package today and can't concentrate on work because of that! Thank you, Anna! :)

Hi, Tova! My UD needs a miracle worker. If Kino can't help me, you are my last hope! No pressure. :D

oh, please, first you need to get out of the mindset that there is something horribly wrong with your UD! i really think it is in your head, not your body.

Just want to say hello and thanks for letting me read your great blog. Me turning up now and than from Norway :)

I hope you will write a long report from the workshop with Kino. I've just bought her new DVD and this girl is really good, strong and with so interesting views. She is having a workshop in Denmark in August and I wonder if I'm going to paricipate.

Hi Alfia
Oh, no, you'll be fine. Let see, you might be doing some Mysore practice, on Sunday right? The workshop part is discussion and demonstration, then she has you try out what was discussed. You would not sweat in those. If she structures it like the one I attended, the workshops on Saturday will focus on opening the chest in dropbacks and how to come back to standing gracefully. She'll also talk about anatomy and the subtle energy needed to do poses gracefully after you've been doing this for a long while. On Sunday she might focus on poses that are challenging to most people, such as legs behind the head poses and how to assist someone in getting into such a pose. I can't wait until she starts giving presentations on nutrition as well.

Cheers,
Arturo

Oh, Tova, the stuff that is in our heads sometimes is harder to cure than what is in our bodies (I speak as a neuroscientist, LOL!).

Thank you, Monica! You are very kind. I will try to write a report on Kino's workshop, though I seem to lack words for long posts :)

Arturo, you always manage to make me feel better, thank you! I am truly looking forward to this weekend.

Alfia, I'm curious as to your views on the Kino workshop as well so I hope you take copious notes and write a big long post about it (no pressure....). I was in Florida last weekend and drove to her studio in Miami to practice in her class on Friday. Let me know what you think.
