Welcome to the old age, Alfia!

My health seems to be improving in all areas, except for the eyes. I saw a doctor yesterday, and, turns out, I need reading glasses in addition to the distance glasses I am currently wearing. Or progressive glasses instead of both of them. I also have dry eyes, which I suspected I had, but could not decide if it were dry eyes or allergies. At least this year she did not say that I have flat eyes, which she mentioned without fail five or six previous years. Honeslty! In addition to flat feet I have flat eyes, to which modern contact lenses can not even cling properly.

What upsets me the most is that I actually wrote a paper “Yoga for the eyes” for my TT program. I researched everything very carefully and made an argument that we have to exercise the eyes in order to keep the eyesight. And did I do all those exercises? Nope. Why? Because I am a moron. But I will start today and I will do them, 3 times a week. I think.

Here they are, my poor dry, flat and myopic eyes:

Why couldn’t they be more like these? Nobody would call them flat, I bet! :D

I need to be doing eye exercises too. But there's only so much time in the day! Asana practice & chanting takes 2.5 hours or more in the morning. I chat 5/6 minutes in the evenings now. Sometimes I meditate...

Still I don't have much of a social life :) I'm sure I could fit in eye exercises if I TRIED?

I mean I "chant" in the evenings..

I was trying to do those exercises in bed before I go to sleep. Ha! I do not remember the moment I hit the pillow, I am so fast asleep. Same with meditation. Once I fell asleep meditating in a lotus and hit my head. How pathetic is that?

I am trying chanting, too. I only can do it when my husband is not home, though. He has a perfect musical ear, I have none of that. Once I tried chanting using my ipod. Victor run over the the bedroom and asked with a concern in his voice: Alfia, are you OK? You are SCARING THE CATS! There are pluses to solitary life... :D

Oh that's funny!!! I used to be embarrassed chanting my apartment, thinking that neighbors might hear. Now I don't care.

I have dry eyes too - coupled with dry skin...wow, I sound very attractive. But I think part of my dry eyes is because I wear contacts...i really think when our eyse are dry it causes us to strain more, possibly putting unwanted pressure on the cornea?? I don't know what I'm talking about...

Your chanting and meditation stories cracked me up!

Hi, Tiff! Thank you for visiting!
My dry eyes are coupled with a greasy skin. Trust me that is even less attractive, than your combo! :)

Mooshi & Maggie might be related. I think they are the same age too.

I have two cats, both are black and white. Except for that they could easily be from different plants. My younger cat thinks she is a dog. She looks like one, too. The older is very pretty and very feminine. They do not get along very well :(

Did you get both at the same time? I've heard that it works best, if getting a 2nd cat when one is used to being the only cat, if you get a kitten. That way the older one can get protective rather than threatened.

I used to be trying to date though & was afraid more than one would instantly qualify me for Crazy Cat Lady suspicions. Plus I have a very small apartment...

I did not do any research when I got my second cat. I was volunteering in organization which resqued and put cats for adoprion. My older cat at that time was 8 and she was gettig really fat. When I met my yonger cat, I just could let her go. She has just an amazing personality - like a little affectionate dog. I was also afraid nobody would want her because she was really sick at that time. It was a compulsive decision to adopt, and my older cat never completely forgave me.

BTW, I also have a tiny apartment. Practically a rat hole :)

Ah... poor, sensitive feline. Ya I think Mooshi is very happy being the only kitty. I think one at a time is good for me. I LOVE kittens though. There's a rescue place a couple doors down from my apartment. When it's warm if they've got kittens, they'll have them outside in this pen thing, with a volunteer watching. I stop & coo over them.

Just getting back here! Kittens are wonderful. When I got Scout, Maggie was 2 - and it's exactly as Linda said, Maggie felt protective rather than threatened. There was a day of hissing and then that was it. Now they are best friends.

I think two is okay. Three is cat lady. I almost got a third last summer, my friend Samantha did an intervention!

Ya I won't get another. For one thing I'm not even that great at taking care of mySELF. I'm just lucky Mooshi's been healthy kitty. Cause if Mommy isn't getting health care, kitty won't be either.

Maybe if I get myself more financially stable I'll "have another kitten".

Good thinking. I spent around 8K on my older cats healthcare. She had a tube insetrted into her stomach at one point, and then a part of her intestines removed. She is healthy and happy at the moment, but I am vey afraid every time I take her for the annual checkups. I do not think I can afford another major surgery if something goes wrong... :(

Oh gosh, no. If I wasn't able to easily solve this problem with Maggie... well, I dont want to think about it.

Good morning! : )

Have a lovely practice.
